The individual’s main duties will be performing maintenance and calibrations of primary and secondary electrical standards in the Keithley Standards Laboratory, as well as performing ISO 17025 accredited calibrations on Keithley product.

Metrology Group Supervisor

JPL is currently seeking a Group Supervisor to join the Metrology Group in the Measurement Systems Group. In this role, you will:

• Participate as a member of Section management team in reaching Section's vision and goals. Participate as a member of Division Leadership Council in reaching Division's vision and goals. Maintain frequent interaction with internal and external customers to convey information, establish needs, resolve issues and evaluate performance. Be responsible for the recruitment and development of technical staff consistent with the Section and Laboratory programmatic and administrative goals. Secure necessary resources across JPL and contracting companies to meet all customer commitments. Assist in ensuring effective implementation and coordination across multiple internal and external customers. Will report to the Section Manager.

• Will lead and oversee group personnel in a variety of activities including development and delivery of leading edge electrical/mechanical hardware and software to produce integrated measurement and test systems, meeting applicable flight and ground systems requirements across all spaceflight and ground support systems (spacecraft, instruments, support equipment and research/technology development).

• Be responsible for the product development life cycle include planning, requirements, design/development, fabrication, assembly, integration/test and post-delivery support (higher level development, integration/test and mission operations).

• Work with outside contractors, vendors and collaborators to improve technical capabilities and business efficiencies and will be cognizant over schedule, resources and technical performance of all assigned group activities on behalf of the section.

• Plan and implement technology development alongside customer work with an emphasis on innovation, collaboration, reporting (e.g., publications, NTRs, patents), and maximum infusion into JPL projects and research/technology development.

This position typically requires:

• Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline with 6+ years experience, or a MA/MS degree with 10+ years experience, or a BA/BS degree with 12+ years, or equivalent related technical work experience

• Strong technical background and experience in the development and delivery of hardware and software systems that support spaceflight systems.

• Ability to evaluate commercial test and measurement hardware and software products and to configure and deliver turn-key measurement and control systems comprising software, sensors, signal conditioning, processing, data acquisition, analysis, display, simulation and control capabilities.
