When calibrated test equipment is found with an out-of-tolerance condition, there is additional risk to all products on which it was used. It is important to understand the magnitude of the potential risk because it can lead to dangerous situations and additional business costs. When faced with an As-Found: Out-Of-Tolerance (OOT) condition, a systematic approach to identify what the out-of-tolerance values were, when, where and how the OOT unit was used.
