What You Will Do

Work with senior metrologists, entry level metrologists, engineers, QA specialists, and others in providing Los Alamos National Laboratory with accurate and traceable measurements and ensuring the quality of measurements taken throughout the Laboratory. The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Maintain and calibrate customer and S&CL Measurement and Test Equipment
  • Revise or develop procedures, calculate measurement uncertainties, use metrology database and data acquisition software, expand and evolve the group’s technical capabilities, provide measurement consultation to Laboratory customers, and accurately document all completed work. The successful candidate will also develop new measurement techniques using automation software, and mentor junior staff. A Technologist 1 is expected to perform work independently with occasional oversight. Calibration processes are mostly procedure driven, resulting in the technologist receiving on the job training and achieving qualification in calibration areas.
